Riding for a Good Cause

This weekend was SO much fun for everyone! Saturday we (to include ME!) rode the Climbing for a Cause in Johnson City. My very first group ride and I was so nervous, but it was for a great cause. I am now a member of Piper's Posse. Piper is a 7 year old little girl who suffers from Juvenile Diabetes and she is ADORABLE! It was really awesome for her to be there and see where the money raised was going. Jordan didn't ride but he helped Marshall the ride.

Next was the Hilly Hellacious!! This was to support Asheville Youth Cycling http://ashevilleyouthcycling.org/ and boy does AYC know how to put on a ride. Almost 200 riders showed up on a beautiful Sunday morning to suffer the 62 mile or 100 mile Hilly and from what I hear HELL-acious! Jordan got a chance to meet some of his new team members and to hang out with them (which he loved) and they all rode together (which was awesome) the 62 mile course. Great rest stops, great sag support and a mighty yummy lunch afterwards. Check out these cool kids from the DIY Music Jr Team.

Below are the "old" riders we brought with us to enjoy the Hilly.

All in all it was a fabulous weekend and we met some new friends and got to hang with some great people.

Fun Rides!

First off, I totally forgot to post results from River Gorge Omnium! Jordan had an awesome race weekend for his very first Cat 4 only Omnium. Jordan got 13th overall! I can't even begin to go into details about how proud I was of him.

We had a great weekend and everyone finished SAFELY and Jordan got to hang out with all his racing buddies which was awesome. They are truly an awesome group of boys who have so much potential and will go far in whatever path they choose ( I bet it's cycling tho) Here they are in downtown Chattanooga cheezing it up

So this weekend their are so many different things going on it's gonna be hard to figure out which direction we are going! First off our local cycling club Tri-Cities Road Club http://www.tricitiesroadclub.org/ is doing their annual charity ride and then Jordan's new Jr. Team DIY Music  http://ashevilleyouthcycling.org/ is doing their annual fundraising ride the (love this name) Hilly Hellacious! It's gonna work out that I will probably ride the 25 miler at Climbing for a Cause and he's going to do his VERY first Metric at the Hilly Hellacious! It's going to be so much fun and I can't wait to see our old friends and meet some new ones.  Both events are for a great cause and I encourage anyone who rides to give them a try.
Can't wait! Pics and updates will follow.
